In a shocking incident, Former minister and MLA Baba Siddique shot dead at around 9.15 pm on 12 October 2024 in Bandra, Mumbai. He was one of the most high profile Muslim leaders in Mumbai and was well known for his friendship with various Bollywood stars.
The alleged killers of Baba Siddique were from Haryana and Uttar pradesh, were in Mumbai for two months and used sophisticated Glock pistols for the killing. They had rented a room in Kurla, paying Rs 14000 rent.
This killing highlights the misplaced priorities of some security agency officials who are falsely labelling harmless professionals, investors who have lived in Mumbai for more than 30 years, are mostly at home, as a security threat without any proof to put them under surveillance.
