While the mainstream media has covered the Manipur conflict between the Kukis and Meitis in great detail, it has not covered the religious aspects
Some media sources have indicated that the Kukis residing in the hilly areas are mainly christian and their religion also includes some aspects of Judaism
The majority Meitis are mainly hindu, and are residing in the valley and more fertile areas of Manipur.
They are also wealthier and more powerful.
So the conflict is mainly religious like other religious clashes.
